She was born March 28, 1934 in Monette, the daughter of the late Hosea Pitts and Amy Lee Hill Pitts.
Christine graduated High School in Monette and married Buford Lawson on September 27, 1953. They enjoyed 53 years before his death in 2011. Christine was a member of the southwest Church of Christ and enjoyed crafting, sewing, working in her yard and cooking for her family. She retired from General Electric after many years of service.
She is survived by two children, Brett Lawson (Beth) of Memphis, TN and Sherris Bond (Wayne) of Jonesboro, four grandchildren, Sam Lawson, Tarah Tibbs, Makensie Britton (Tel), and Stephanie Benton (Devin), and five great grandchildren, Brayden Prestidge (Karagon), Brodey Prestidge (Graceon Trickey), Landrie Tibbs, London Tibbs, and Tatum Britton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Amy Lee Pitts, her husband, Buford Lawson, a grandson, Kaleb A. Cheshier, three brothers, Joe England, Gerald (Joyce) Pitts, Clarence Pitts, two sisters, Helen Barnes and Virginia (G.F.) Stewart.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Mr. Jimmy Adcox officiating. Interment will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday morning, 9:00-10:00 a.m. Those serving as pallbearers will be Brayden Prestidge, Brodey Prestidge, Sam Lawson, Revis Stewart, Bob Blankenship, Rickey Stewart and Tel Britton.
