Mrs. Alice P. Back Answers Summons
Death Occurs Near Warren And Funeral Will Be Friday Afternoon
Mrs. Alice Pearl Back, 66, died at 4:30 a.m. today at her home in Salamonie township, Huntington county. She had been in failing health for some time, but had been seriously ill for the past two weeks from a heart ailment.
The decedent was born April 27, 1877 in Salamonie township, Huntington county, a daughter of Calvin and Amy A. Young Andrew. She was married Feb. 15, 1899, to Arthur P. Back, who died Jan. 12, 1942.
Surviving are a son, Russell L. Back, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. Ardella McBride, of Bluffton; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Theodocia Bulnder, of Winamac; a half-sister, Mrs. Addie McMillan, of Marion; a brother, Daniel C. Andrew, of Warren; a granddaughter, Anna Bell Fagner, of Winamac, and a great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Edna Sands, is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Methodist church in Warren, of which Mr. Back was a member, in charge of Rev. V. O. Vernon, of Montpelier, assisted by Rev. L. M. Hile, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery at Warren.
Dave's note: Alice Pearl Andrew (1877-1944) is the d/o Calvin Andrew (1821-1898) and Amy Ann Young (1833-1913). Alice is the second wife of Arthur P. Back (1858-1942) who is the s/o John A. and Margaret Ann (Swaim) Back.
