Jimmy Hall was the "Black Sheep" of the Hall family because he was an alcoholic. His wife Eatrice divorced him when his children were young and moved to Durham and then to Richmond VA. "Uncle Jimmy" was a kind hearted man but had a difficult time making a living. He died in Fayetteville, NC and was buried in Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh. Carol Robbins commented that "Uncle Jimmy's funerial was the saddest she had ever attended."
