"Betty" Huebinger passed away January 14, 2021 in The Forum at Lincoln Heights Nursing Center.

A private graveside service was held Sunday, January 17th at Mission Park South with The Rev. Scott Kitayama from Christ Episcopal Church officiating.

Betty was born in San Antonio as the youngest daughter of Raymond Emerson Eignus and Stella Harper Eignus. She and her brother Everett and sister Virginia enjoyed growing up in the River Road neighborhood of San Antonio. She attended McKinley Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High, and Jefferson High schools.

After graduation, she worked in the secretarial field until her marriage to Melvin Paul Huebinger, December 28,1943, with The Rev. Sam Capers of Christ Episcopal Church officiating. They had two sons, Wayne E. Huebinger and Michael E. Huebinger. Being a full time Mom meant being their biggest supporter in all things, especially in their athletic endeavors.

Betty loved being active, whether it was playing tennis with friends or participating in golf Tournaments at various clubs or with the San Antonio Women's Golf Association , swimming or walking. In her late 90's she could be seen racing with her walker in the Forum's Assisted Living Unit.

Betty was given many gifts by Our Creator, one of which was her artistic talent. Throughout her Life, she took many art classes and joined various art groups, with her favorite being the San Antonio Watercolor Group. Their shows and her paintings placing in them, their many out-of-town trips and Parties gave her great joy. Her paintings are now treasured by many family members, friends and those who collected them.

Other gifts included her sense of humor and optimism, a love of games and friends as she enjoyed her Bridge and Poker groups and a love of learning, as she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.

She was also a partner with her husband of Alamo Hardwoods, Inc. and on the Board of Directors until her passing.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Melvin P. Huebinger, by her son, Michael Ernst Huebinger, by her sister Virginia Eignus Giesecke and her brother Everett Eignus.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Emerson Huebinger "Biff" and his wife Genell, her grandson Emerson Paul Huebinger , and her sisters-in-law Betty Huebinger (Anton) and Myrtle Huebinger(Erno).

She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews whom she absolutely cherished.

The family wishes to thank The Rev. Scott Kitayama, Carol Miller and the entire pastoral care group Of Christ Episcopal Church. Heartfelt thanks are also given to the nursing staff of The Forum At Lincoln Heights for their loving care of Betty this past year. Special thanks are also due to her Physicians, Dr. Michelle Scanlan and Dr. Paul Smith.
