Linda worked at an ice cream factory in Omaha for few years before becoming a homemaker and foster mother of over 30 foster children over the years. She cooked food and ran the concession stand for the “boxing smokers” held by the contestants of Big Fire Boxing Club and Southwest Iowa Boxing Club, raising money to send them all over the United States. Being the backbone and support behind the scenes. The experience from running the concession stands prompted her to become a owner/operator of a local café and gas station where people waited in line to eat breakfast. After a few years of running the café she sold the business and started work for American Meter in Nebraska City where she retired after 26 years.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband E.J. Mullins; brother, Harold Jeffers; aunt and uncle who raised her, Dorothy and Vernon Bostick; and a grandson Johnathan Mullins. She is survived by 2 daughters, Deanna Culver and husband Randall of St. Helens, OR and Betty Mullins of Sidney, IA; 3 sons, Erman Mullins III, Jim Mullins, and John Mullins and wife Shelly all of Sidney; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley Stokes of St. Clairsville, OH and Eileen Stokes of Moundsville, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA with Randy Moyer officiating. Visitation with the family greeting friends from 5:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow the funeral with private disposition of ashes at a later date.
