Bud was a graduate of Avon Lake High School. He was a military veteran that proudly served in the U.S. Army. He earned an associate degree from Lorain County Community College in Fire Protection followed by his Fire Marshall certification. Bud retired in 2019 from Fire Tech, the company that he co-founded and was proud to own and operate. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. Through the years he coached T-ball, baseball, basketball, and football. He was part of the Avon Lake chain gang for the ALHS football team. He enjoyed cheering on the local sports teams, Tribe, Buckeyes, and Browns. He was loud, happy, and his smile and laugh were contagious. Bud loved golfing, fishing, and traveling. Spending time on a golf course with his buddies each week was something he always looked forward to. In addition, he was a co-founder of the Steve Giannoni Memorial Golf Outing. He enjoyed his summer visits to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he spent time with his in-laws and annual trips to Washington, D.C. to visit with his sisters and brother. Visiting family in Louisiana, especially in the cold winter months, was always a highlight of his year, but it never outdid the Birthday Christmas parties Diane would throw. Above all, he was an amazing example of love and devotion to those that knew him.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife Diane (nee Willson) of 41 years; loving children Kristen (Cpt. W. Scott) Laragy, Robert Curry, Patrick (Kerry) Curry, and Brian (Sarah) Curry; cherished grandchildren Addison, Kate, Liam, and Finley; dear siblings Kathy Curry, Chris Curry, and Tom Curry. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret (nee Couper) Curry and his mother and father in-law, Marshall and Ruth Willson.
