She taught art in Tulsa Public Schools for four years. Joan then went on to become an acclaimed and award winning Native American artist, painting in mostly oil and acrylic. Her works can be found in many public and private collections including the Smithsonian in Washington DC, and the Department of Interior.
She was preceded in death by her father, William McKinley Hill; mother, Winnie Davis Harris Hill, brother, William Cheasquah Hill.
Joan is survived by niece, Dana Leslie Hill Skof and husband Mark Anthony Skof, their children, Joseph William, Jacqueline Elyse, Christian Evan and Samuel Steven; nephew, William Lawrence Hill and wife Beth Lorraine Hill, their children, Sierra Emelia, William Ethan, Cassidy Jacqueline.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be 2PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
