Joy Yvonne Richardson, 84 of Black Rock; died February 5, 2021 in the St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, with her children by her side.

Born April 5, 1936 in rural Lawrence County, Arkansas, daughter of the late, Oscar Floyd and Ada Lee Massey Martin. Joy was united in marriage to the late John B. Richardson on May 7, 1956. She was a homemaker and very active in her community, church, and volunteered at the Red Cross to help her neighbors and fellow citizens. She was a member of the Imboden Church of Christ, taught Sunday School and went on several mission trips throughout her life. She was instrumental in helping get the Lawrence County Rural Water started, going door-to-door to inform neighbors of the benefits of rural water. She served on the Board for Lawrence County Regional Water District for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; one son, John Michael Richardson; three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her four children, Vicki (Michael) Long of Kansas City, MO, Tom (Kelly) Richardson of Walnut Ridge, AR, Linda (Larry) Lueckenhoff of St. Thomas, MO, and Joe (Denise) Richardson of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; her twin brother, Roy Martin of Pocahontas; and many other relatives and friends.

Private burial will take place at a later date in the Park Cemetery, Lawrence County, Arkansas.
