He and his beloved wife, Barbara Lammers Gorman, celebrated 60 years of marriage on January 28, 2021. He devoted his life to Barbara, his four kids: Pat (Teri) Gorman, Laura (Dan) Anderson, Colleen (Spencer) Malcolm and Kelly (Chris) Scharver and his nine grandchildren: Ryan, Zach, Bridget, Danielle, Sean, Riley, Autumn, Duncan and Tess, and he was loved and cared for by his nieces and nephews.
Pat attended Holy Name grade school, St. Mary’s seminary and St Meinrad’s seminary. Over his 50 years as a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes, he served in many roles including RCIA, school board, an usher, a eucharistic minister to the sick, and a passionate original founder of the Stewardship Committee. He was a talented, hard-working employee of O’Connor and Raque for 40 years, selling with the highest integrity to Louisville businesses, hospitals, and Catholic churches.
Second to his love for his family was his passion for UK basketball, coaching every game through his transistor radio. For many years, he opened his home to dozens of friends for the Kentucky Derby. He loved to share a good joke and Barbara’s fried chicken around the table with his family and friends.
Thank you to the many who took care of him: family, friends, neighbors, Hosparus and his caregiver Susan Glass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mass of the Air, Sister Visitor Center, and Our Lady of Lourdes.
A private funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes church 11 AM ET Saturday, Feb 13 . Arrangements by Ratterman Funeral Home. Burial Calvary Cemetery.
