Former Montrose resident, Ronald Pringle, 69, passed away at his home in West Plains, Missouri on August 12, 2019. Ron and his wife Mary, moved to Montrose in 1976 when Ron was by Jack Pixler to handle the accounting duties at the First National Bank of Montrose (now Wells Fargo). Mary was soon employed by Colorado Ute Electric and worked there until the first of their three children was born. They moved to Missouri in 1992.

Ron was active in the local Kiwanis Club, was a board member at Colorado West Christian School, and played piano for local churches, soloists, and a band with three of his friends. He was privileged to serve as the choir director for Rosemont Baptist Church for several years.

Ron was an enthusiastic mountain lover and especially enjoyed hikes to Blue Lakes and Yankee Boy Basin with Roland Nakamoto. Sneffels and Uncompahgre Peak were two favorite 14ers. Darrell Gardner was a frequent hiking companion and golfing pal. Ron taught his boys lake fishing at Blue Mesa. Gardening and flowers were important hobbies. Contact with local friends was maintained during many visits to the Valley until 2017.

Ron is survived by Mary, his wife of 44 years, sons Aaron (Kimberly) of West Plains, Missouri and Greg (Tiffany) of Nixa, Missouri and daughter Sarah (Ermal) of Peshkopi, Albania; Three grandchildren and sisters Terry (John) Wright of Springfield, Missouri and Paula (John) Fisher of Walnut Grove, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ann Pringle and his father and mother in law, Otis and Nell Albert. Services were held August 16, 2019 in West Plains, Missouri.Ronald W. Pringle, 69, passed away August 12, 2019, at his home in West Plains, Missouri. He was born October 15, 1949, in Ash Grove, Missouri to Bill and Juanita Ann (Keck) Pringle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Aaron Pringle (Kimberly), of West Plains, Gregory Pringle (Tiffany), of Nixa, and Sarah Lushi (Ermal), of Peshkopi, Albania; grandchildren; sisters, Terry Wright (John), of Springfield, Paula Fisher (John), of Walnut Grove; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Ron came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized as a young person. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1967 and Southwest Missouri State College in 1971. Having been smitten with the mountains on a college ski trip, he pursued his dream to move to Colorado and landed a banking job in Denver. There he met and married Mary. They later moved to Montrose, Colorado where he continued his banking career. In the following years, he experienced some of the greatest joys of his life-- the birth of his three children, hiking and fishing with friends and his father-in-law, and using his gifting in music. In 1992, the family moved to West Plains, Missouri, where he took a position at West Plains Bank and worked there until his retirement in 2009. He served in children’s ministry at First Baptist Church and played the piano with a gospel quartet. He was an avid supporter of Christian education, enrolling his children in Christian schools and later after his retirement teaching math and science at Faith Assembly Christian Academy and Ozarks Christian Academy. He cultivated his yard into a fruitful, blooming oasis. Following in his dad’s footsteps, he did a lot of work with genealogy, helping his family and many others find out more about their ancestors. Ron was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2014 but remained active as long as possible and maintained a positive attitude even as the disease weakened his muscles over the next five years. He enjoyed visiting Albania to see his daughter and son-in-law three times. He was privileged to spend time with Mary back in Colorado, to attend the weddings of his children, and to have time with his grandchildren. Ron was a generous giver and a fountain of knowledge and wisdom. He was a steady and faithful rock for his family, pointing them to the Lord through his example.
