Mr. James Ostell Everett, age 87, of Sandersville died on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Fairview Park Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Deepstep United Methodist Church with burial in Deepstep Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Stan Ballew will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Hitchcock, Jonathan Hitchcock, Ross Smith, Cliff Smith, Justin Wright, William Smith, Kyle Black, and Stephen Archer.

Mr. Everett was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Roy Bernard Everett, Sr. and the late Mary Frances Giles Everett. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Everett Tyson, sister, Corilla Everett Weaver, and brother, Roy B. Everett, Jr. He was a retired mail carrier and postal clerk with the Sandersville Post Office. He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran. Mr. Everett was a member of Deepstep United Methodist Church and the Griffin Thompson Men’s Club of the church.

Survivors include: his wife of sixty-six years, Eva Dell Tyson Everett of Sandersville; daughters, Marie Hitchcock (Waylan), Susan Smith (Jimmy Ray), Sherri Black (Troy) and Jaime Archer (Julian), all of Tennille; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Ashley (Donald) of Sandersville; brothers, Lester Everett (Betty) of Warthen and Lamar Everett (Joan) of Sandersville; and sister-in-law, Lois Everett of Deepstep.
