She was born December 18, 1935 in Aberdeen, SD to D.D. and Goldie (Hern) Reynolds. She was previously married to John Caldwell.
Shirley was an active and faithful member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Genoa for many years. She was helpful with cooking for many Church dinners, luncheons and with the food preparation for Logos Youth Program. She was known to many people as "Grandma Shirley" and will be remembered for her homemade chocolate chip cookies. Along with cooking and baking, she was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
She worked for Burgess-Norton Manufacturing as a material coordinator for 17 years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include her children, William (Rita) Caldwell, Steven (Kaye) Caldwell, James (Diana) Caldwell and Carrie (Jeff) Tucker; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four siblings, Richard (Lynn) Reynolds, Barbara (Lee) Wolf, Lanny Reynolds and Terry Reynolds; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 great grandchildren.
Her memorial visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 6th from 12:00 PM -1:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, IL. Social distancing and facial coverings are required in the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery at a a later date.
