She was born in Lenoir on July 22, 1960 to the late Rev. James Cecil Dugger.
She attended both Hudson and South Caldwell High Schools, was an active musician in both high schools, enrolled in Caldwell Community College's nursing program in 1979, became state board certified as a registered nurse in 1981 and graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing, worked over 20 years at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, The American Red Cross, Caldwell County Health Department and Broughton Hospital.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Sue Farthing Dugger; husband, John Carter; children, Matthew (Caitlin) Barlowe, Meredith Kiser, Madison Carter, Emily (Nick) Easton and Jonathan Carter; grandchildren, Aiden, Triton, Bianca, Luke, Ivy and Emmett; brothers, Terry Dugger and Keith Dugger.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 13. 2021 at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Sam Craven and Michael Staton speaking.
A graveside service will be at Littlejohn United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4120 Littlejohn Church Rd., in Lenoir.
