Dennis was born on November 18, 1944, in California, to the late Lynn Dale Scott and Juanita Elizabeth Scott. He grew up in Annaville, Texas, where he lived until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1965.
After serving honorably in Vietnam, he married Joyce Elaine Stuart in 1967. They lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, until moving to Garland, Texas, in 1974. There, Dennis started his own business specializing in custom cabinets.
He was active in youth baseball, serving as a coach for many years. Dennis was a member of Orchard Hills Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught youth classes.
In his spare time, Dennis loved to fish and hunt deer and dove with his sons.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Scott; sons, Troy Dale Scott and Michael Todd Scott; daughter, Denise Warner; grandchildren: Kayle DeAnn Roop, Aaron Craig Scott, Daniel Stuart Scott, Ashley Noelle Scott, and Kolton Lane Warner; and great-granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Roop. B2
