Richard Eugene Doty, Duncan, was born October 3, 1938 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Eugene Frederick and Merle Dora (Snyder) Doty. He passed away on February 9, 2021 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Lawton at the age of 82.

Visitation will be Friday, February 12, from 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 13, at 11:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Smith officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Interment will be Monday, February 15, at 10:00 A.M. in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Richard was a graduate of Duncan High School in 1956 and attained a 12-year perfect attendance record. He married Sarah Paulette Berry on October 22, 1966 in Denver, Colorado. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1978, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

He loved his grandchildren and daughters but he mostly loved his wife of 54 years, Sarah. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed Oklahoma Sooner football and going to games. Richard was an accomplished golfer, playing in Pro-Am's and on the Air Force golf team. During his golfing career, he made 3 holes-in-one.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sarah; children: Susan and L.R. Ramsey of Choctaw; Paula and Eric Hancock of Duncan; Jessica and Chad Smith of McCloud; Rebecca and Peter Range of Woodinville, Washington; grandchildren: Amy and David Ramsey; Kirsten and Kris Houtz; Kelsey and Caleb Roberts; Kalen Hancock; Brannon and Alexis Hancock; Jacob and Korie Smith; Gunner Smith; Caleb Smith; Josslyn Range; Miranda Range; great grandchildren: Rayne Caldwell; Tofer and Ruby Houtz; Riot and Rebel Roberts; Titan Smith; sister, Mary Spears of Shawnee; and sister-in-law, Alice Doty of Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bill Doty and Bob Doty.
