Canton- Ruby Ann Mathis Davis, age 78, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Ruby was born December 27, 1942 in Buncombe County to the late Troy E. Mathis and the late Aretha Roberts Mathis. She had made her home in Canton most of her life and was a devoted homemaker. Ruby held a strong faith and she was blessed with a loving and caring heart. Ruby always wanted to take care of everyone and she enjoyed her beautiful flowers. Ruby loved people and everyone blessed to know Ruby loved her too ! We give thanks for her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Davis who passed away in 2019 ; her son, Ronnie Ledford and a sister, Diane Mathis.
Surviving are her son, Troy “Shot” Ledford and Barbara of Canton; grandchildren, Kevin Ledford and Candice Ledford; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Jean, Brenda and Teresa ; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Ledford, a dear friend and her former daughter-in-law, Karen Ledford; several nieces and nephews and her special dog, “Angel”.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde.
