Steve Bailey
May 22, 1956 - Feb 10, 2021

Steve Bailey, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 10, 2021, with family at his side. Steve was born May 22, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa to David L. and JaVonne (Stock) Bailey, both of whom preceded him in death along with his sister, Deloy Marie Bailey.
Steve grew up in Terrell and graduated from Terrell High School in 1974. His smile and very social personality garnered him many friendships, many of which were lifelong. Along with Steve’s easy-gong personality, he had a dedicated work ethic inherited from his parents which made him an essential associate at every place he worked. After graduation, Steve began a long successful career in the moving industry working his way up from removalist/crew to scheduling manager and then, finally, to Scheduling Supervisor, ensuring that each move involving a home, office or larger business was on time and seamless for local, national and international relocations. Steve had an eye for how things fit for the most effective and space-efficient placement in the trucks thereby saving time, resources and money for his clients. He worked for North American Van Lines, Atlas Van Lines and finally for Mayflower and, at each company, Steve was THE go-to guy! His talent for combining timeliness with flexibility for each project that he was given earned him a coveted reputation in the moving industry. Steve was a member of First Baptist Church in Terrell where he accepted Jesus as his Savior on Sept. 7, 2007. His amazing humor and his fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sky Fielding and her husband, James, of Grand Saline; grandson, Noah Fielding; sisters: Beverly Dunn and husband, Jimmy and JoAnn Inglis and husband, Chris, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives along with Steve’s special friend and devoted prayer warrior, Pat Jones, and a host of friends, near and far, all of whom loved Steve dearly.
In lieu of flowers, Steve’s family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org in honor of his life.
Funeral service will be at 6:00pm, Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 4:00pm to service time.
