Patsy “Memaw†Hill went to celebrate her 90th birthday with the Lord Jesus on February 9, 2021. She was born February 9, 1931.
Services will be held Thursday, February 11 at 10:00 with visitation at 9:00; both at Pruitt Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX with Brother Mike Calhoun officiating.
Patsy Jane Watson Hill was born on the family farm north of Burkett in Coleman County, Texas to R.T. and Nanie Godwin Watson. She was married on August 25, 1950 to Clifford Hill. They met while both were attending school in Denton.
When all their children were in school, she taught first grade in Winters, Texas. Later, she taught third grade in Grand Saline until she retired in 1989.
She was a member of Pruitt Baptist Church and the “Adults in Action†Sunday school class for many years, serving as class secretary or treasurer.
Family was her pride and joy. A gifted seamstress, Memaw made new Christmas stockings every year for each grandchild. If not with family, she could be found researching genealogy or raking and baling hay in the pasture with “Dedad†(Clifford). Her family loved her sloppy joes, contagious sense of humor, and spending as much time with Memaw as possible. She was dearly loved.
She is survived by her children, Jim and Shirley Hill, Van; Lynanne and Randall Caussey, San Angelo; and Trish and Rick Parker, Van. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josh and Kristy Caussey, Carter and Luke; Jana and Chad Duncan, Miles, Jack and Ava; Jarrod and Amanda Hill, Jordan, Josslynne, Jeremiah and Jazzelle; Justin and Amanda Hill, Jayce and Riley; Niki and Sam Johnson, Scarlett and Hollis; Marie and Justin Allen, Macy, Kylie and Jameson; Judd and Jadi Parker, Charli and Bonni; Laci and Ranz Nelson, Jonah, Eli and Julia; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Watson, David and Shirley Lake, and Judy Hill; and numerous nephews and nieces.
