Funeral services for Ezra Zachariah Howard, 85, of Lexington will be held at 2 p.m. today at Loretto Memorial Chapel in Loretto, Tennessee with Ronnie Ray officiating. Burial will be in Harmon Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. He was a native of Lauderdale County and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mosie Maybelle (Hammond) Howard; his sons, Ezra O'Neal Howard and Lowell Thomas Howard; and his daughter, Lydia Ellowee Garner. Survivors include his daughters, Edith Pauline Cottrell and Ora Cottrell, both of Lexington, Gladys Emmogene Brooks of Nashville, Tennessee, and Phyllis Hoenig of Mahopac, New York; his son, Anthony Howard of Memphis, Tennessee; his sisters, Irene Cottrell of Lexington and Pearlie Miranda "Ran" Kates of Minor Hill, Tennessee; his brother, Spencer Howard of Anderson; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
