John Henry Meade, 58 of Whitman departed this life Saturday March 12th at Logan Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born April 12, 1957 at Holden to Lorene 'Sis' Meade of Wilmington, NC formerly of Whitman and the late William 'Bill' Meade Sr.
In addition to his father he is proceeded in death by his sister Judith Meade, his brother William 'Billy' Meade Jr., his maternal grandparents Henry C. and Zara Queen Hager and paternal grandparents John B. and Tillie Meade, and a niece Lisa Vance.
John played softball many years on different leagues in the area, liked to referee basketball, and fish.
He is survived by one brother Robert 'Bob' (Viola) Meade of Whitman, one sister Betty (Rush) Cox of Wilmington, NC, one son John 'JD' Meade of Charleston, two daughters Tabitha Meade of WV and Cara (Dwain) Trent of Maryland; four grandchildren Hannah Perry, Alyssa Meade, John Meade Jr., and DJ Trent; several nieces and nephews, and a special great-niece Suzannah Meade who was his grocery shopper.
Visitation will be Friday evening March 18th at Honaker Funeral Home from 5-7 with funeral services starting at 7:00pm. Rev. Randy Skeens will be officiating.
