Thomas E. West, III passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 51. Beloved son of Thomas E. West, Jr. and Roberta V. (nee: Stanish) West; dear brother of Michael T. West and wife Tonya; dear uncle and Godfather to Charlie and Katie West; Thom is also survived by his girlfriend of many years Joy Gilbert; Thom will be missed by all who knew him.

Giving in death as he did in life, Thom was an organ donor.

It was Thom West’s mission in life to entertain you. And, if you were lucky enough to get to know him just a bit better, his mission was to love you.

He was entertaining you when he sat behind the FM microphone.
He was entertaining you as he stood on a tee box with his trusty 11 wood.
He was entertaining you as he mourned, sometimes celebrated, but always cherished, a Bears game.

He loved you by calling you by your nickname, or by singing his favorite ditty about you,
or by his gift of unwavering loyalty.

He entertained because he wanted to make you laugh, to make you gasp, to make you remember the good times you had – or were having – with him.

He loved because he had an ability to connect quickly, and deeply with you. His empathy for who you were, and who you weren’t, was unmatched. He hugged you. He told you he loved you. Often.

Thom was the master of creating memories. And, through his love for you, and his gift to entertain, we have memories of him to cherish and to share with each another. Forever.

Due to the current pandemic all services for Thom will be held at a later date.
