Suggested edit: Richard Alan Greene, age 86, went home to be with his Lord on January 25, 2021 surrounded by his wife Patricia and family at their home in Ocala, Florida. Richard was born in Providence, Rhode Island, July 28, 1934. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and later achieved his bachelor's degree at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY and his master's degree at the University of Rhode Island. Richard taught High School History and English in Connecticut and Rhode Island before starting a career in Adult Probation with the state of Rhode Island. He met his Wife Patricia of Warwick, Rhode Island and they were married in 1985. They loved to travel and honeymooned in Europe, traveling through Austria, Germany and Ireland. During their 35 years of marriage, they never spent a day apart other than a hospital stay and Patricia's Mission trip to Russia with their Church. Richard retired from the State of Rhode Island after 29 years of service as a Senior Probation Officer. Richard and Patricia were members of Knotty Oak Baptist Church in Coventry Rhode Island for over 15 years, prior to moving to Ocala Florida where they became members at Trinity Baptist Church. Richard lived a life that exemplified him and his name and in doing so left a legacy for all that knew and loved him. The doors to his home and his heart were always open. He will be remembered for his generosity, unconditional love, his gentle spirit, his forgiving nature, his unwavering faith, his love for reading and music, including Classical, Jazz, Blues and Christian. He was preceded in death by his Father, Lyman Greene and his Mother Harriet McPhail-Greene. Richard is survived by his Wife Patricia Greene, Step-Son, Jeffery W Harris, his wife Diane and Grand Daughter Kathryn. Step-Son Steven W Harris and wife Susan, Brother Inlaw Michael A Coutcher, his wife Kathryn and son Scott, Sister in Law Karen Limoges, and Cousins Patricia Dankievitch-Styx, Charles Greene, Robert Greene, Nancy Duguay, Janice Seveney and Steven Duguay. A service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Ocala, FL on February 18th at 10AM followed by Military Honors at Bushnell National Veterans Cemetery at 2PM. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts of Ocala, Florida. Contributions in honor of his memory may be made to Kindred Hospice of Ocala, Florida .
