She was an accountant and bookkeeper for D&R Farm and Maxwell Surveying and Engineering, both family businesses. She was a member in several antique tractor organizations, including The John Deere Two-Cylinder Club, The Oliver Gang, and was the Secretary and Registration Chairman for the Winter Indoor Tractor Show, Auburn. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 432, Fort Wayne and received multiple awards from the Masons.
She is survived her husband of 14 years, Steven; mother, Ruth J. (nee Bauer) Schaefer of Grabill; sisters, Rosemarie (Jerry) Schwartz of Spencerville and Eleanor (Terry) Schaefer-Paulish of Grabill.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald E. Schaefer.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State St, Grabill with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday at the church. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan.
