Graveside services for Mrs. JoAnn Sims Martin, age 73, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Union Springs Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA, with Bro. Larry Buford officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Martin was born on March 7, 1947 to Carl and Clara Bradley Sims in Shreveport, LA and passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Bossier City, LA. She was a homemaker and loved playing dominoes and farkle. She was a fierce competitor, who loved quilting and fishing and will be remembered as a fine Christian woman who loved the Lord.
She is survived by her husband of ten years, Carlton Trumon McCuen of Shongaloo; sons, Derriel Martin and Jennifer Koch of Oil City, LA, James Martin and Kathy of Atlanta, TX, Kevin Martin and wife, Melissa of Sarepta, Ricky Martin and wife, Velma of Minden, Terry Martin of Springhill, Rex Martin, Jr. and wife, Christy of Sarepta; three daughters, Leona Allen and husband, Larry of Springhill, Jennifer Drury and husband, Luke of League City, TX, Elizabeth Braun and husband, Warren of Tucson, AZ; daughter-in-law, Tracie Crockett of Gun Barrel City, TX; thirty-six grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; sister, Kathy Tucker and husband, Jimmy of Tyler, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex Martin, son, David Crockett, brother, Carl Joe Sims, sisters, Betty Hart, and Brenda George.
Pallbearers will be Don Campbell, Perry Wall, Michael Magee, Charles Slack, R.D. Teutsch and Tullie Moore.
