Phyllis was a nurse for 14 years at the Gibson General Hospital. She was a member of The Community of Christ of Washington, Indiana. Phyllis was active with a wonderful group of widowed friends. She was an avid reader and read almost every book at Oakland City Library.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, George Edward Phillips, who died in 2002; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Phillips; and brother, Larry Paul McGillem.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Rayetta Wagster, Eddie Phillips (Rita), Todd Phillips (Mari) and Georgia Elaine Melhiser (Keith); grandchildren, Jackie, Tyler, Ashley, Danny, Misty, Blake, Nicholas, Lucas and Ethan; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Griffen, Poppy, Vivian, Trinity, Harmony, Jaylynn, Raylie, Kylie, Hunter, Keegen and Jaxon; sisters, Judy Oaks, Pam Eckert, Becky Sholutz (Richard); very best friend since she was 18, Betty McDonald; and special friend and caregiver, Penny Garwood.
