Actress. Born in Orange, New Jersey, she was a fashion model when discovered by Broadway producers in 1943, which led to her signing with Paramount Pictures. She made her film debut in "Miss Susie Slagle's" (1945) and was a popular leading lady in the 1940s and 1950s. Among her credits were "Blue Skies", (1946), "Dear Ruth" (1947), "The Unsuspected" (1947), "Dear Wife" (1950), "Dear Brat" (1950) and "Catcher in the Rye" (1951), Later in life she appeared mostly on television on programs such as "Salley", "Cheyenne", "Baretta" and "Murder, She Wrote.
