Samuel S. Sharp died of a heart attack at his home just west of Dayton, Saturday night. He was a son of Noah and Mary Sharp, and was born in 1851, on a farm now owned by the A. J. Bayne estate, near Edna Mills. In early life he was a teacher for several years, but retired from the profession to take up farming.

His first wife was Laura Parke, a sister of Miss Lina Parke, of Mulberry. After the death of this wife, he married Miss Martha Snoddy, a daughter of Dr. A. N. Snoddy.

He is survived by his wife and four married daughters by the first marriage; also by two brothers, Robert Sharp, of Bloomington, and Dr. Edw. Sharp, of Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Levi Snyder, of Rossville. A brother, Beecher Sharp, and a sister, Mrs. Josiah Hazlett, are deceased.

Mr. Sharp was a member of the Dayton Presbyterian church. The funeral service was conducted at 10 o'clock, Tuesday, by Pastor Steen.
