NEWPORT NEWS — Laura Jeanne Barron, 88, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. Born in Alabama City, Alabama, she had been a longtime Peninsula resident.

She retired as a secretary after a long career with Newport News Public Schools. She was a former member of Menchville Baptist Church. Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by her loving husband, T.L. Barron; and son, Terry Barron. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Macejko, and her husband, Jake, of Newport News, and Janna Brantley, and her husband, Billy, of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Justin Brantley of Williamsburg and Chelsea Barron of Ivor; and three great-grandchildren, Malachi, Caleb and Shiloh.

All funeral services will be private. The family would like to express their thanks for the special care provided by Heartland Hospice. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
