Antonio Ortiz (Tony), age 64, from Granger passed away early Monday morning, February 8.

Antonio was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Marek Ortiz, his father Domingo Ortiz, mother Aurora Rodriguez Ortiz, Alfredo Ortiz, Balthasar Ortiz and a sister Petra Ortiz.

Antonio is survived by his son Diego and Kristen Ortiz of Georgetown, James and Linda Chavana of Round Rock, Camille Chavana Nunez of Thrall and Carra Johnson of Hewitt, brothers Manuel Ortiz of Thrall, Leon Ortiz of Rockdale, Tino Ortiz of Granger, sisters Gloria and Ciprano Flores of Denver City, TX, Janie and Andrew Flores of Denver City, TX,Linda and George Flores of Thrall, and Olga Salazar of Thrall, 8 grandkids and 3 great grandkids as well as numerour nieces and nephews.

Tony was a strong advocate for higher education. He never missed a chance to encourage teens and young adults to continue their education and get that certificate. He himself was a 1975 graduate of Thrall High School.

He was an Army veteran and recently retired from Williamson County Road and Bridge where he earned the nickname Sarge by some of his coworkers.
