Mary L. Smallwood, age 97, and long-time resident of Sachse, TX, passed away on February 9, 2021. She was born August 14, 1923, in Ravenna, TX, to Roy Ray and Mary Lou (Wilhoite) Ray. Mary loved her Sons, Michael and Jeff. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. Halloween and Easter were her favorite Holidays. Mary worked for Sears Roebuck & Company for over 38 years as a telephone operator. She was a tough, loyal, dedicated Woman, and a fierce competitor. Mary was a wonderfully talented cook and she loved to bake with her Granddaughter, Ashley. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her Sons: Michael Smallwood and Significant Other Diane Asher, and Jeffrey Smallwood and Fiancé Jennifer Saba; Grandchildren: Ashley Kay Amsbaugh and Husband Mark, and Austin Jeffrey Smallwood; and Great-Granddaughter: Samantha Kay Amsbaugh. She was preceded in death by her loving Husband: Loyd Smallwood; three Brothers and three Sisters; and her Parents.
