Roy was born on November 22, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Richard and Jewel Lewis. On December 19, 1958, he married Alice Raney in Ennis, Texas. Roy worked for Certainteed Roofing for 32 years.
He attended Jesus Name Pentecostal Church and at one time was the pastor. He loved the church, that was his life. He enjoyed camping and fishing but especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ouida Sue Brazelton.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alice; son, Roy Neal Lewis, Jr. and his wife, Portia, of Kemp; grandchildren: Alyson Chapman and her husband, Neil, of Rice, Brandon Lewis and Qutzal, of Arlington, and Brian Lewis, of Ennis; great-grandchildren: Luke Chapman, Kinzli Chapman, Maxx Chapman, all of Rice, and Sawyer Lewis, of Ennis; brother, Jimmy Lewis and his wife, Nelda, of Rice; sister, Diane Cheek and her husband, Jack, of Rice; other relatives and many friends.
