Charles Michael Grant, 78, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. Michael was born December 18,1942, in Bay City, Texas to Helen Grant and Harold Grant. Michael grew up in the Houston, TX area and after finishing school, he studied to be a hair stylist and later became a cosmology instructor.
Working and spending time with his clients at his business, the Headhunters Hair and Tanning salon, was Michael’s passion and he made many friends in the community over the years. After retiring from his business, he spent much of this time with loved ones. He married Lynn Grant on March 19, 1991. Michael enjoyed living near Lake Tenkiller and tending to his many plants and loving his dogs. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He especially loved spending time with his family at his house.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Helen Grant and Harold Grant; his brother Hal Grant; and his wife Carol Lynn (Moore) Grant.
He is survived by his dog Daisy; daughter Trish Johnston and partner Dennis Nelson of Tulsa; daughter Anja Wilkinson and husband Darrell of Claremore; son Devin Grant and wife Pam of Centerton; son Christopher Grant of Fayetteville; grandchildren: Alisha McKinney, Joshua Johnston, Kaitlyn Remington, Hevyn Remington, Deric Walden, Spencer Walden; great-grandchildren: Ana McKinney, Angel McKinney; stepchildren: Joseph Landers and wife Becky, Stephanie Hutchens and husband Thad, Jeremy Landers and wife Dee; stepgrandchildren: Derek Landers, Cale Hutchens, Connor Landers, Dallas Landers, Brooklin Landers; and many friends and loved ones.
Michael’s final request was to not have a funeral ceremony or viewing. The family will honor his request to join Lynn with his ashes later this year.
