Adrian – Irene Anna (Witt) Marr, age 96, of Adrian, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital. She was born on October 16, 1924, in Blissfield to Oliver and Emma (Friedrich) Betz. She was a graduate of Blissfield High School and then went on to graduate from beauty school. On October 10, 1945, she married Roger Witt and he preceded her in death in 1961. Irene married Charles Marr on October 12, 1966, and they were married one month shy of 50 years before his passing. Irene enjoyed bowling and traveling all over the world, especially to Germany.
Irene is survived by her sons, Gary (Cindy) Witt and Mac Marr; grandchildren, Christina Witt and Matthew (Tiffany) Marr; one great grandson, Walter Marr and sister, Linda Good. In addition to her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Gene Witt; her parents; two brothers, Arnold and Elwood Betz; and sister, Arlene Borton.
A graveside service for Irene will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Riga Cemetery with Pastor Richard Retner officiating.
