GiOn February 8, 2021 heaven gained a precious angel. Precious Yvonne Mercier was set free from the limits of dementia.

She was born in 1925 and raised in Chattanooga, TN. A true Southern Belle, she was crowned Miss Chattanooga 1938. She married the love of her life, Sidney Gibson, at the young age of 16, before he left with the Army Air Corps to serve in World War II. Together they raised 3 children. Sidney's work brought the family to Fairless Hills in 1952. Precious became involved in community activities and was the President of the Fairless Hills Women's Club.
After raising the children she became a very successful cosmetologist at Pomeroy's. Later she worked for Amtrak as a reservationist. After the loss of her husband and son, Patrick, in a ballooning accident, she remarried. Trafton Mercier showed her years of happiness before passing in 1997.

After developing dementia she spent her last years in the care of assisted living. She truly loved the USA and always displayed our flag. She was a gifted soprano. Precious celebrated her love for the Lord by singing in her church choir at Fairless Hills United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children, Sydney Churilla and Stephen Michael Gibson; four grandchildren, Debra Pipe, Amy Churilla, Jennifer Combs and Patrick Gibson. She was blessed with seven great grandchildren.
