Judith Ann (Hancock) Pate

Judith Ann "Judy" Hancock Pate, 72, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born in Kermit, TX on September 8, 1948 to Joe Bailey Hancock and Tommye G. Montgomery Hancock.

   As a youth, her family moved to Lovington, NM, then finally settled in Hobbs where she would go on to graduate from Hobbs High School in 1967.  She then took bookkeeping courses at New Mexico Jr College. 

     On April 29, 1977, she married Henry L. Pate. Combined, they had five children.

     She wore many hats over the years, i.e., bookkeeper, substitute teacher, clerk at the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department and home maker. She was a devout follower of Christ, a loving wife, and an excellent mother and mother-in-law.

     She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Tommye, husband Henry, stepson Joe Tew, and her grandson Jonathan D. Lee. 

     Judy is survived by one brother Joe K. (Marie) of San Antonio, TX, one sister Tommye Markham of Alvord, TX, her son Trevor McDermott (Diane Villegas) of Albuquerque, NM.  her daughter Shelley Lee (Darin) of Hobbs, NM, stepdaughter Angel West (Ellis) of Pine Mtn, GA and stepdaughter Kim Baker (Britt) of Columbus, GA, brother-in-law Alton Pate (Linda), and 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous honorary children and grandchildren.
