Edward E. Morgan, 96, of Springfield, IL passed away on November 23, 2020 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Edward was born on August 16, 1924 in Beardstown, IL the son of Edward J. and Iva (Lawson) Morgan. He was a member at Peace (Faith) Evangelical Lutheran Church in Springfield and a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Champaign, IL prior to moving to Springfield. Edward loved being outdoors; camping, fishing and traveling across the county with his wife, Edna May Morgan. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and Rodeo. Edward worked for the University of Illinois Champaign Press in conjunction with the State of Illinois for more than 30 plus years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; his parents; and his brother, Lee “John” Morgan and his sister, Mabel Morgan. Edward is survived by one daughter, Jean (Robert) Fisher of O’Fallon, IL; one son, Earl (Lesslie) Morgan of Loami, IL; one sister-in-law, Patty Stremsterfer of Pleasant Plains, IL; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Graveside services were at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 25, 2020 at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale, with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating.
