Lela Marguerite Hill Troxclair passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Forest Manor Nursing Home.
Beloved wife of Warren G. Troxclair for 63 years. Mother of Beverly Troxclair Capell (Melvin) and the late Gwendolyn Troxclair Harris and M. Dawn Troxclair Pedone Dysart. Grandmother of Kristine Capell Price (Steven), Jodi Capell Graves (James), Brent M. Capell (Michelle), Daniel P. Harris, Jeffery A. Harris, Amy L. Pedone, Joseph A. Pedone III (Cheryl) and the late Nicholas A. Pedone. Daughter of the late Orin Washington and Ruby Christine Varner Hill. Sister of Marie Knight, Robert Hill (Elizabeth), Clyde Hill (Alene), and the late Allen, Howard, Clarence Hill, Estelle DeHay, Grace Austin, Reba Murry and Iris Austin. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Age 85 years. A native of Ridgeville, SC and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 63 years.
She was a retired as a Registered Nurse after 25 years of service at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She received her nursing degree from the Medical College of South Carolina, Roper Hospital, Charleston, SC. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Louisiana State Nursing Association, Covington Garden Club, Kaycettes (Ladies Auxiliary of the Covington Council 3061, Knights of Columbus). In 1978 she served as Queen of the Mardi Gras Ball of the Krewe of Kaa-Cee.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, July 20,2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time.
Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
