Linda Whitt Fox, age 67 of Tazewell, VA passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Westwood Center in Bluefield VA. She was born to the late John Crockett Whitt and Lillian Sayers Whitt of Tazewell, VA on August 25, 1953.

Linda graduated from Tazewell High School with the class of 1972. She was a member of the Green T’s and attended Fincastle Baptist Church in her youth. She continued her education first at Southwest Virginia Community College, then graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Concord University. Linda followed her calling of serving others during her time as a social worker with Beckley Nursing Home. Throughout her lifetime Linda devoted her time and talents to serving others, most notably with her skills in crochet, creating warm outfits for preemies and blankets, scarves, and hats for cancer patients.

Linda was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons and doting grandmother to eight grandchildren. She was ever the life of the party, her humor and laughter lighting up the room. Time with grandchildren was spent playing dress up, crafting, and exploring. She loved to visit the ocean, and frequently fed her spirit with reading from the Book of Ruth and the Book of Psalms.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents, her dear brother in law, Jerry Wolfe, and her nieces, Laura Wolfe and Jessie Megan Wolfe.

Linda lives on through her sons, Jason McCampbell Fox, Sr and his wife, Tiffany of Bristol, TN, Joseph Lee Fox, Sr and his wife, Mary of Bluefield, VA; three sisters, Maereen Score and her husband, Robert of Asheville, NC, Jeannie Wolfe of Candler, NC, and Barbara Gilbert of Tazewell, VA; eight grandchildren, Abby Marie Fox and Haley Elizabeth Fox of Bristol, VA, Jahna Mae Rynes, Jaida Marie Rynes, and Jason McCampbell Fox, Jr of Bristol TN, and Jasmine Serenity Fox, Haylie Leann Fox and Joseph Lee Fox of Bluefield, VA as well as her nieces and nephews, John Wolfe, Jeremy Remines, Melissa Baker, Teresa Scognamillo, Leslie Blue, Tonya Sutherland, and Shonya Howington.

In keeping with social distancing guidelines, no funeral services will be held at this time. There will be a celebration of Linda’s life to be held at a time and date to be provided in the Spring.
