Mr. Shelby Leon Walker
Nov 12, 1946 - Feb 7, 2021

Mr. Shelby Leon Walker, age 74, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2021 at Marshall Medical Center North. Shelby was born on November 12, 1946 to the late Thomas Allen Walker and Alma Dunn. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. Shelby worked in the restaurant business with his family until his retirement.
For most of his life, Shelby loved to fish. Many days he could be found at Guntersville Lake, his favorite fishing spot. His family and friends will always treasure the hours they spent with him there. His love of cooking didn’t end with retirement. He fixed many wonderful meals for his family and friends. His fried shrimp and fish dinners were a special treat enjoyed by many people.
Twenty-one years ago, Shelby made the most important decision of his life when he got saved and gave his life to God. He worshipped faithfully at the Morgan City Church of God. After his relationship with God, his family was the most important thing in his life. Nothing made him happier than helping his family and spending time with them. He didn’t have a lot of money to give, but the time he spent helping, loving and caring for his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, his three grandchildren and his extended family was more valuable than all the riches in the world.
Shelby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bobbie Ann Morgan Walker, son, Radford Oden; daughter and son in law, Christina and John Alan Edwards ; grandchildren, Jonathan Lane Edwards, William Shelby Edwards, and Madilyn Grace Edwards; brother, Thomas Walker (Rene) ; sister in law, Faye Walker; and many nieces , nephews, cousins and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his brothers, Rayford Walker, Dwight Walker, Max Walker, Boyd Walker and LaWayne Walker.
