Michelle Suzanne David

11/27/1960 to 1/20/2021

Michelle (Shelly) David, long-time resident of Denton, Texas, and beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, lost her battle with COVID 19 on January 20, 2021. Shelly was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 27, 1960 to Carl David and Diane F. David, and was the oldest of four daughters.

Shelly is survived by her father, Carl David, her mother, Diane David, and stepfather David Cray; her sisters, Daneen (Terry) Riley, Christine (Timothy) Beerup, and Amy (Michael) Cable; her stepbrothers, Jerry (Regina) Meyer and James (Dawn) Meyer; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and her Godparents Richard David and Sandy Issa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, stepmother, and stepsister.

Shelly attended University of North Texas and had a passion for interior design. She worked for several years at Texas Women's University (TWU) and was involved in the TWU community, serving on councils and various other organizations. She had numerous friends throughout her department and the TWU campus.

Family was very important to Shelly. She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, cousins and all extended family. Shelly was thought of as the family historian on both her mother and father's sides of the family. She had a special place in her heart for her three kitties. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, listening to all kinds of music (and singing along!), and watching scary movies with the kids. She took pride in her baking, and Lebanese cooking, and her family loved receiving the fruits of her labors in the kitchen. Shelly lived in Denton for over 30 years, and on weekends she would go to the market and shop in the town square. Taking after her parents and grandparents, she enjoyed gardening and had a spot in the Denton community garden for many years.

Shelly will be forever missed and loved by all.

A visitation was scheduled from noon to 2:00pm on Sunday, January 24 at the Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall St., Grapevine, Texas 76051. Due to COVID, and travel restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held in Missouri for out-of-town family and friends at a later date. There will also be a memorial held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at St. George Church at date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shelly David's memory to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org. All other cards and communication can be sent to 601 Forest Meadow Drive, Colleyville, Texas 76034, attn. Daneen Riley.
