She was born January 10, 1942 to John & Edythe Lavin in Chicago, IL.
She married Dennis May on May 15, 1999 in McHenry, IL. Patricia & Dennis lived in McHenry until her move to Valley Hi Nursing Home, Woodstock, IL in 2012. Prior to this, Patricia lived in Johnsburg for 24 years.
For more than 25 years she worked at the McHenry Hospital (NIMC). First in housekeeping, then as a CNA & finally in Home Health. She enjoyed her long career & many friends at the McHenry Hospital.
She enjoyed many hours taking care of and nurturing her flower gardens, long car rides, her family and anything sweet - she has a BIG sweet tooth!!
She is survived by her husband, Dennis of 21 years; daughters, Becky (John) Nickel of Marshall, WI; Rita (Rob) Rudinger of Rogersville, TN and son, Richard (Tracy) Schaller of Burlington, WI; step children, Jeanette May (David) of New York City, NY & Russell (Wendy) May of Salt Lake City, UT. Grandchildren Mark & Dan Nickel; Tiffany Elkins; Alyssa Schaller, Kyle & Sean & eight great grandchildren. A brother Kevin Lavin of Carbondale, IL & six nephews.
Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, John & Edythe, brother John Lavin, sister in law Kay and many aunts and uncles.
The family welcomes donations in Patricia's memory to Journey Care Hospice Care, Barrington, IL and/or St. Jude's Children's Hospital
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11:00am-3:00pm at the Colonial Funeral Home 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry, IL.
Burial in the Columbarium to follow at the Woodland Park Cemetery, McHenry, IL
Due to current CDC Covid 19 recommendations and Illinois mandates, only 50 people will be allowed within the funeral home facilities at a single time, all attendees must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing protocol.
We welcome everyone who would like to attend but ask that you make your visit brief in order to allow for everyone in attendance to be able to have an opportunity to show their support for the family.
