Jean Hart

Matawan - Jean Hart returned to God on February 6, 2021. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born in Jersey City, where she was raised, attended school and was married. She moved to Kearny and was employed by the Kearny Board of Education as a Secretary to the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Upon her retirement she resided in Matawan where she spent time with her children and grandchildren. Jean was a communicant of St. Clement Roman Catholic Church. She became a member of the St. Clement Senior Citizen Club in 1988 at the time of its early existence, was a former President and worked diligently for the success of its 375 membership.

In January 2006 she was predeceased by her childhood soul mate and husband Bill Hart, a retired police captain with the Kearny Police Department. She was predeceased by her four brothers- Anthony, Michael, John, and William.

She is survived by her loving son William of Chatham and her three loving daughters Janice Bazydlo of Brick, Joan Vrola of Belmar, and Judith Hart of Brick. She was also blessed with her ten grandchildren, James Jr. (his wife Lorraine) and Jamie Lynn Bazydlo, Laura, Julia and Emily Hart, Kristina Dealaman and her husband Kyle, Joseph, and Jaclyn Vrola, Jennifer and Nicole Patterson and her great grandchildren Rayna, J.B. and Madison Bazydlo, Paige Elizabeth, Henry and Caroline Marie Dealaman, her loving sister Nancy Fullowan of Berkeley Heights, her loving daughter in law Katie Hart, her son in law Joseph Vrola.

In addition to her cherished life with her husband and family one of her greatest gifts which she treasured was the renewal of her 50th wedding anniversary vows which was done privately by His Eminence John Cardinal O'Connor.

She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 11th at 10:00am at St. Clement Church followed by interment in St. Gabriel's Cemetery. Visitation services will be held in accordance with COVID guidelines, therefore limiting individuals within the facilities we ask to please be considerate of the family and others wishing to pay respects.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jean's name to St. Clement Church, 72 Freneau Ave, Matawan NJ 07747.
