Mary Ann Olsen

GREEN RIVER-Mary Ann Olsen, age 75, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, in her home in Green River after a brief, but courageous, struggle with cancer. Her husband, daughter and granddaughter were at her side.

She was born in Price, Utah on November 16, 1945 to Malcolm Jr. and Norma Brock Politano. Married Lynn Ward Olsen in Farmington, New Mexico on July 17, 1964. They enjoyed 56 years of wedded bliss.

Mary Ann was a dutiful giver, first to her family and then to others. She crocheted blankets for friends, babies and many family members. She loved horses, writing stories and, more importantly, Elvis. She took great pride in keeping her yard and house neat and clean for friends and visitors alike.

Many will fondly remember Mary Ann standing at the counter at Politano’s Grocery in Green River where you were always met with a smile.

Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.

She is survived by her husband Lynn; children, Brady Olsen and Mary “LeiAnn” Chidester; sister, Charlotte Williams; and extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Malcom and Norma Politano; and son-in-law, Kelley Chidester.
