He was born on September 9, 1947 in Alexander County to Lawrence Freeman and Ola Mae (Greer) Rodgers. He married Shirley Sissom on June 19, 1998.
Arthur was a retired truck driver and an avid hunter. He loved spending time with and joking with his family.
