Ellen Charlotte (Johnson) James, 75, of Dallas Center, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2014 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, December 22 at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 23 at Brandt Chapel.
Ellen was born on December 20, 1938 in Beulah, North Dakota to the late Harold and Pearl (Tjaden) Johnson. She her husband, Ray, resided on their El-Ray Ranch in Dallas Center. Ray operated a Horse Chauffeur business and Ellen operated a dog grooming business for many years.
Ellen was devoted to her family. She is survived by her children, Scott Leslie Wren of Albert City, IA, Stacie Pearl (Wren) Beeler of Dallas Center, Stewart James Wren of Dallas Center, Stephen Lee (Nancy) Kugley of Urbandale, Sheilah James of Adel, Tess Carrigan of Urbandale, David (Dianne) James of Des Moines; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Marlene Pieper of Manson, IA; brother, Vernon Johnson of Linn Grove, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Harold Johnson and her husband, Raymond James on November 15, 2014.
