Virginia graduated from Shabbona High School in 1948. She worked for the Hillside Restaurant for several years and The Daily Chronicle for 20 years. She married Donald F. Jackson on January 10, 1950 in Lee, IL and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1998.
Virginia was a member of First Lutheran Church in DeKalb and enjoyed gardening especially her tomato plants. She loved watching the birds, feeding the squirrels, traveling, and doing her crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two children; Shelley (Steve) Stover of Armona, CA and Kenneth Jackson of DeKalb. Grandchildren; Kim (James) Rocha of California, Patty Stover of Arkansas, and Amy (Jimmy) Ryan of DeKalb and great grandchildren; Kelsey Rocha of California, Matthew Moon of DeKalb, Dylan Rocha of California, and Jackson Lam of Arkansas. Special friends; Mike and Lisa Sheehan and family. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, sister; Carol Prentice and brother Gene Hilleson.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 10:00am at Fairview Park Cemetery with Pastor Rich Fassig officiating.
