Harvey Joshua Howard, 89, of Lancaster, passed away February 5, 2021 at Landmark of Lancaster. He was born July 28, 1931 in Harlan County to the late James Harvey and Sarah Howard. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara.

Harvey served as a jet engine mechanic in the air force. He was a lifetime farmer and the Property Valuation Administrator for Garrard County for over 28 years. He was a member of Drakes Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Church Treasurer for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin Howard (Gwen) of Lancaster and Keith Howard ( Blanche) of Papillion, Nebraska; sister, Inez Dyehouse of Lancaster; grandchildren, Josh Howard of Lancaster, Alyssa Howard (Lyman) of Nebraska, and Erin Howard of Nebraska; great grandchild, Quinn Margaret Lyman, and nieces, Kitty Barsotti and Kathi Callis.

He is also preceded in death by a sister, Jewell Callis.

A public walk through visitation will held from 10am-12pm Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster. A private family funeral will be held and burial in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike McQuery, Mike Bolin, Marsha McQuery, Sharon Bolin, Matt Barsotti and Josh Howard.
