In later years, she picked up golfing, spent the winters in Alamo, Texas, and volunteered at her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Julia is survived by her twin brother and daughter . She is also survived by granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The best word to describe Julia is love. She loved her family immensely. Her husband, daughter and grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she was always available for hugs, smiles and encouragement. She was adored by all, and we will miss her sweet smile, her homemade pies and cookies, and her numerous holiday cards with $5 bills.
A private interment will be held in Topeka at Memorial Park Cemetery.
