Ashley Elaine Duffey-White, 35, of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday June 4th in her hometown.

Ashley was a Las Vegas local born to Judy Duffey-Conger and Timothy J. Duffey on February 26, 1985.

Ashley attended R.Guild Gray Elementary School and graduated high school from Faith Lutheran in 2003. She majored in Elementary Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2007.

After student teaching at Antonello Elementary, Ashley began her teaching career at Kirk Adams Elementary. She moved to Bonner Elementary in 2010 where she served as a first grade teacher for the next decade.

Ashley was a beloved member of the Bonner staff. She served as a mentor to many student teachers and was a key member of the Bonner Run committee, an annual 5K event that brought the community together every spring.

Ashley was an amazing teacher whose love for her students could be felt the instant you walked into her classroom.

She was a devoted mother to Grace Marie White, who truly was the light of Ashley’s life. Ashley and Grace enjoyed the simple things in life together, always singing in the car with one another, snuggling up for a good movie and spending their time side by side. Ashley’s greatest joy in life was loving Grace.

Growing up, Ashley was a talented gymnast at GymCats from 3rd grade to 7th grade and won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at numerous competitions throughout the southwest. At Faith Lutheran she was a competitive athlete that lettered in Varsity Softball and Basketball.

Following college, Ashley was an active member of the community, coaching Grace’s little league softball team in the Northwest Girls Softball League for three seasons.

Ashley was known for her kind heart, endless sense of humor and bubbly personality. She loved the mountain air on her summer trips to Panguitch with her family, and would always enjoy a good book by the pool. If she wasn’t busy spending time with Grace or teaching at Bonner, you could always find her soaking up the love of her friends and family.

Ashley is survived by her daughter Grace White, her parents Tim and Judy Duffey, and her brother Timothy M. Duffey.

A memorial will be held at Davis Mortuary at 6200 South Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas on Monday, June 29th from 11am to 1pm. Her urn will be placed in its location following the services at Davis Memorial Park.

A Facebook Livestream will be posted of the service. Information for that will be posted soon.
