James Edward Adcock, 87, of Villa Rica, GA died Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA. He was born in Griffin, GA on January 7, 1934, the son of the late Buford Thomas Adcock and the late Gladys Akins Adcock. He graduated from high school and served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Amarlite Aluminum Co. as a tool and dye maker until his retirement and moved from Austell to this area about twenty-four years ago. He enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, spent a great deal of time on his computer and enjoyed being with his family. He attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, Robert Buford Adcock.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jane N. Adcock of Villa Rica; his son James David Adcock and his wife, Sandy, of Winston; and his daughter, Lisa Renee Leary of Villa Rica.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Condra officiating. Pallbearers will be Todd Bradford, Jeff Barrs, John Mimosa and Jerry Garrett. Interment will follow in the Mount Harmony Cemetery in Mableton, GA.
